Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living—bathing, dressing, grooming—with dignity and respect
• Take and record vital signs accurately to help the clinical team monitor patient status
• Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and equipment
• Communicate changes in condition to nurses and contribute to care planning
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the patient chart
• Provide compassionate emotional support and build trusting relationships with residents and families

Qualifications

• Active CNA certification (or eligible to obtain) — NC certification preferred
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred
• Ability to pass required background checks and drug screening
• Reliable, punctual, and patient-centered with strong interpersonal skills
• Previous experience in long-term care or acute care is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or GED and completion of an approved CNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong fundamentals of patient care and infection control practices
• Comfortable with vital sign measurement and documenting observations
• Skilled in safe transfer and mobility assistance techniques
• Clear, respectful communication with patients, families, and the care team
• Familiarity with basic electronic health record (EHR) documentation is helpful
