Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate bedside care to patients, focusing on safety and dignity
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and document in the chart
• Perform routine assessments and promptly report changes in condition to the care team
• Support wound care, dressing changes, and other direct clinical procedures as needed
• Collaborate with RNs, physicians, therapists, and support staff to deliver coordinated care
• Educate patients and families about care plans, medications, and follow-up
• Maintain accurate electronic health records and ensure compliance with facility policies
• Adhere to infection control and safety protocols to protect patients and staff

Qualifications

• Current LPN license or practical nursing certification (eligibility to practice in New Mexico required)
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• Ability to pass required background checks and drug screening
• Comfortable working 12+ hour day shifts and managing patient care across multiple disciplines
• Clinical experience in long-term care, rehab, or med-surg settings is a plus

Education

• Completion of an accredited Practical Nursing (LPN) or vocational nursing program

Knowledge & Skills

• Medication administration and accurate documentation
• Patient assessment, vital signs, and recognizing changes in condition
• Wound care, dressing changes, and basic clinical procedures
• Proficient charting in electronic health record systems
• Strong communication, teamwork, and time-management skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced clinical environment
