Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents — assist with activities of daily living like bathing, dressing, and mobility
• Monitor and record vital signs and patient conditions accurately and promptly
• Support the interdisciplinary care team by communicating changes in resident status
• Assist with safe transfers and mobility to reduce fall risk and promote independence
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control protocols
• Document care activities clearly in resident records and participate in care planning
• Build trusting relationships with residents and families to support emotional well-being

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification (required) — New Mexico certification preferred or eligible for reciprocity
• Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Prior experience as a CNA in long-term care, rehabilitation, or similar setting is a plus
• Ability to pass facility-required health screenings and background checks
• Strong communication skills, reliability, and a team-first attitude
• Comfort with 12-hour night shifts and working weekends

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Current CNA certification (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of resident care, ADLs, and safe patient handling
• Basic clinical skills: taking vitals, observing changes, and reporting concerns
• Infection control practices and proper PPE use
• Good documentation habits and basic charting familiarity
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a care team
• Time management and prioritization during busy shift periods
