Start Date: 04-29-2026

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: 4-hour pre-op shifts (no break), exact start/end times and days to be confirmed; orientation required

Candidate Pay Rate: $49 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Prepare pediatric patients for surgery by performing thorough pre-op assessments and documentation
Coordinate with surgeons, anesthesiology, and perioperative teams to ensure smooth patient flow
Provide clear, compassionate education and support to patients and families prior to procedures
Verify patient identity, consent, and pre-op orders to maintain safety and compliance
Monitor and report changes in patient condition and escalate concerns promptly
Maintain accurate pre-op records and assist with pre-procedural interventions as needed

Qualifications

Current RN license in Washington (or compact license eligible) required
Experience in pre-op nursing and working with pediatric patients preferred
Current BLS required; PALS preferred or willing to obtain
Ability to pass background check and meet facility immunization requirements
Strong teamwork, communication, and patient-family advocacy skills

Education

Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Perioperative and pre-operative nursing principles
Pediatric assessment and family-centered care
Patient education and preparation for procedures
Medication administration and documentation best practices
Clear communication with multidisciplinary surgical teams
