Roles & Responsibilities

• Room patients efficiently and compassionately, preparing them for provider exams
• Obtain and document vital signs, including pulse oximetry and 12-lead EKGs
• Record patient history, medications, and allergies accurately in Epic
• Perform charting and update patient records in Epic to ensure continuity of care
• Assist providers by preparing exam rooms and necessary equipment
• Make follow-up phone calls to support patient care and appointment coordination
• Support clinic workflow by triaging tasks and communicating clearly with the care team
• Float within your scope to meet facility needs when requested

Qualifications

• MA-C certification required (MA-R not accepted for this role)
• Current BLS certification required
• Previous experience in healthcare and familiarity with healthcare terminology
• Experience using Epic is required
• Comfort obtaining vitals, 12-lead EKGs, and performing pulse oximetry
• Reliable transportation required
• Local candidates preferred (50-mile rule); strong consideration for eventual permanent placement
• First-time clinic applicants are welcome — prior experience of ~6 months is noted but first-timers accepted

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient with Epic charting and electronic health records
• Skilled at taking vital signs and performing 12-lead EKGs
• Strong understanding of adult outpatient clinic workflows, especially Cardiology settings
• Excellent patient communication and rooming skills
• Ability to document histories, medications and allergies accurately
• Comfortable making follow-up phone calls and coordinating care
• Team-oriented mindset and ability to adapt to clinic needs
