Shift Type: Clinic days 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM (day shifts); night call coverage 5:00 PM - 8:00 AM (on-call nights as scheduled); 24-hour call rotations 7:00 AM - 7:00 AM (rotating schedule, includes weekends; on-call frequency approximately 1:6)

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality general urology care in clinic and on call, managing both routine and urgent patient needs
• Perform a range of urologic procedures including cystoscopy, vasectomy, prostate biopsy, TURP, ureteroscopy, nephrectomy, cystectomy, ESWL and Botox injections
• Cover inpatient rounding duties while coordinating with the hospitalist team for admissions
• Serve as sole provider in a busy department when assigned, managing a high patient volume efficiently and compassionately
• Participate in the rotating call schedule (night call and 24-hour call) and respond to callbacks and consults as needed
• Document thoroughly in Epic and collaborate with nursing and administrative staff to optimize patient flow
• Support a positive patient experience with strong customer service and clear communication

Qualifications

• MD or DO in Urology required
• Board certified or board eligible in Urology (board eligible candidates considered)
• Current DEA registration and BLS certification required
• Minimum commitment: 3 months locum coverage
• Comfortable managing a fast-paced clinic load (typical volume ~20-25 patients/day) and surgical case mix (20-30 surgeries/month)
• Ability to participate in rotating weekend and night call; reliable, responsive, and a team player
• Locum credentialing experience preferred but not required

Education

• MD or DO in Urology; board certified or board eligible

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong expertise in bread-and-butter urology procedures and outpatient clinic management
• Operating room experience including endoscopic and open urologic procedures
• Familiarity with Epic EMR for documentation and order entry
• Acute care and inpatient rounding skills, including coordination with hospitalist teams
• Excellent patient/customer service and communication skills
• Ability to triage and manage consults and callbacks efficiently
• Robotic surgery experience is a plus (robot onsite, but not required)
