Shift Type: Assigned evening shifts, typically Monday-Friday with every other weekend required; primary shift 1:00 PM - 9:30 PM (8-hr evenings); alternate shifts may include 2:30 PM - 11:30 PM and 4:00 PM - 12:30 AM; holidays required — rotating evening/night coverage

Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform accurate testing across core lab areas as a generalist, including blood bank, chemistry, hematology, urinalysis and coagulation
- Operate and maintain lab analyzers such as EXL Dimension, Sysmex XN, ECHO, Clinitek and Sysmex CS 2500 with confidence
- Complete specimen processing, testing and result documentation in EPIC and follow LIS workflows
- Ensure quality control, follow laboratory procedures and maintain compliance with regulatory standards
- Communicate results and collaborate with nursing and provider teams to support patient care
- Participate in orientation and continuing competency activities to keep skills current
- Assist with inventory, troubleshooting and basic equipment checks to keep the lab running smoothly
Qualifications
- Certified MLT or MLS (ASCP or AMT) — MLT or MLS accepted
- Minimum of 1 year of recent blood bank experience required
- Comfortable working as a generalist across core lab disciplines; no phlebotomy required
- Familiarity with EPIC and standard LIS workflows
- BLS (AHA) listed among posting requirements; be prepared to provide certification if requested
- Valid driver license on file (radius requirement noted) and ability to complete in-state orientation week
Education
- MLT or MLS certification via ASCP or AMT required; associate degree or equivalent in Medical Laboratory Technology preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on experience in blood bank testing and generalist laboratory procedures
- Operation and troubleshooting of EXL Dimension chemistry analyzers
- Experience with Sysmex XN hematology platforms and Sysmex CS 2500 coagulation systems
- Knowledge of ECHO blood bank systems and Clinitek for urinalysis
- Proficiency with EPIC charting and laboratory information system workflows
- Strong attention to detail, quality control practices and documentation skills
- Good communication and teamwork in a fast-paced acute care environment
