Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care for individuals at the Medical Step-Down level
• Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms and respond rapidly to changes in patient status
• Administer medications and therapies safely and accurately in accordance with orders
• Perform timely assessments, document clinical findings, and update the care team
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans
• Participate in holiday and weekend rotations and support unit staffing needs

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Ohio required
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association required
• Experience caring for Medical Step-Down or telemetry patients preferred
• Comfortable and experienced with 12-hour shift schedules
• Willingness to participate in holiday and weekend rotations
• BSN preferred; Magnet-recognized certification a plus

Education

• BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong patient assessment and clinical decision-making skills
• Proficiency with cardiac monitoring and telemetry interpretation
• Skilled in IV therapy and medication administration
• Familiarity with ACLS protocols and emergency response
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Accurate and timely electronic medical record documentation
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple complex patients
