Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality inpatient neurological care, managing consults and admitted patients with confidence
• Cover 24-hour on-call responsibilities during assigned coverage periods, triaging acute issues and coordinating urgent care
• Document thoroughly and efficiently in Epic to keep care teams aligned and patients safe
• Collaborate with hospitalists, nursing, radiology and other specialists to develop clear care plans
• Communicate effectively with patients and families to explain diagnoses, plans and next steps
• Participate in handoffs and ensure continuity of care across shifts and the broader neurology group

Qualifications

• MD or DO with completion of an accredited Neurology residency
• Board certified or board eligible in Neurology (preferred)
• Current, unrestricted Indiana medical license or ability to obtain state licensure in advance of assignment
• Comfort and experience with inpatient neurology practice and managing consults
• Experience with Epic EMR (documenting admissions, progress notes, consult notes)
• Current BLS; ACLS preferred or willing to obtain
• Willingness to provide 24-hour on-call coverage during the posted dates
• Note: Trinity Health does not reimburse credentialing costs or application fees, so candidates should plan accordingly

Education

• MD or DO degree
• Completion of an accredited Neurology residency

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical knowledge in adult inpatient neurology and acute neurological presentations
• Skilled in triage, urgent evaluation and management of stroke, seizures, altered mental status and common neuro consults
• Proficient documentation and clinical workflow using Epic
• Clear communication and team-based collaboration skills with multidisciplinary hospital teams
• Efficient decision-making during on-call scenarios and ability to prioritize high-acuity needs
