Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients' functional abilities and needs using evidence-based assessment tools
• Develop individualized occupational therapy treatment plans to maximize independence
• Implement therapeutic interventions focused on ADLs, mobility, cognition, and adaptive equipment
• Collaborate with nurses, PTs, SLPs, physicians, and families to coordinate holistic care
• Provide clear, timely documentation of assessments, progress, and discharge plans
• Educate patients and caregivers on strategies, exercises, and home modifications to promote safe recovery
• Advocate for patient-centered care and contribute to quality improvement initiatives at the facility

Qualifications

• Active California Occupational Therapy license required (candidates without a current CA license must provide an estimated date of licensure)
• Current, unrestricted occupational therapy registration/license in good standing
• Facility-required background checks and health screenings (must be able to complete prior to start)
• Strong clinical reasoning, documentation skills, and ability to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary team
• Comfort working in an inpatient/rehab setting (facility experience preferred)

Education

• Master's in Occupational Therapy (MS/OT) or Occupational Therapy Doctorate (OTD), or equivalent degree meeting state licensure requirements

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in functional assessments, ADL training, and adaptive equipment recommendations
• Knowledge of progressive rehab interventions and discharge planning best practices
• Excellent verbal and written communication for clear patient and team coordination
• Ability to prioritize caseloads and manage time in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Competent in electronic medical records documentation and outcome tracking
