Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group psychotherapy tailored to an incarcerated population
• Conduct psychological assessments and develop comprehensive treatment plans
• Deliver crisis intervention and risk assessment as needed
• Document clinical encounters, progress notes, and treatment outcomes accurately and timely
• Collaborate with custody staff and multidisciplinary teams to support safety and rehabilitation
• Participate in case conferences and contribute to program development within mental health services
• Support continuity of care during registry coverage and vacancy coverage assignments

Qualifications

• Active and valid California license as a Psychologist, LMFT, LCSW, or LPCC
• Clinical experience in mental health settings; correctional mental health experience preferred
• Ability to work Monday through Friday daytime shifts; flexibility for 4/10 schedules if needed
• Clear background clearance and ability to complete required facility orientation

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong skills in mental health assessment, diagnosis, and evidence-based interventions
• Experience with crisis management and de-escalation techniques
• Excellent clinical documentation and treatment planning abilities
• Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and custody staff
• Familiarity with correctional mental health challenges and ethical considerations
