Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality respiratory care and ventilation management for acute patients
• Assess patients’ respiratory status and develop individualized treatment plans
• Perform diagnostic testing such as ABGs and monitor response to therapy
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Educate patients and families on respiratory care, equipment use, and discharge plans
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient progress accurately in the medical record

Qualifications

• Current Respiratory Therapist (RT) license or credential required (must be eligible to practice in Georgia)
• CRT or RRT credential preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
• Clinical experience in acute care settings preferred; new grads with strong clinical skills encouraged to apply
• Ability to work 12.5-hour clinical shifts and function effectively on a multidisciplinary team

Education

• Associate degree or diploma in Respiratory Therapy (or equivalent) required; Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field a plus

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong ventilator management and mechanical ventilation troubleshooting skills
• Proficient in airway management, oxygen therapy, and aerosolized medication delivery
• Skilled in arterial blood gas (ABG) interpretation and adjustment of respiratory care plans
• Excellent patient assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
• Comfortable using electronic medical records and documenting clinical care
