Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor cardiac telemetry and promptly identify arrhythmias or changes in patient status
• Perform thorough patient assessments and document findings accurately in the EHR
• Administer medications and treatments safely according to physician orders
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to create and update individualized care plans
• Respond to patient alarms, emergencies, and rapid response situations with composure
• Provide compassionate patient and family education tailored to telemetry needs
• Coordinate smooth patient transfers and discharge planning activities
• Contribute to unit quality improvement initiatives and best-practice standards

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kentucky (KY) or compact RN with KY eligibility
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred or soon after hire
• Previous telemetry or cardiac monitoring experience preferred
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and prioritization skills
• Reliable documentation skills and comfort with electronic health records

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Medication administration and IV therapy basics
• Patient assessment and clinical observation
• Effective communication with patients, families, and care teams
• Time management and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced setting
• Familiarity with hospital protocols and safety standards
