Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: 5-hour pre-op shifts (specific start/end times and scheduled days to be determined by the facility)

Candidate Pay Rate: $63 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate pre-operative care to pediatric patients and support their families through the surgical process
Perform thorough patient assessments and document findings accurately and promptly
Prepare pediatric patients for procedures, including monitoring vital signs and ensuring readiness for anesthesia
Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the perioperative team to coordinate safe, efficient care
Educate families on pre- and post-operative instructions and address questions with clarity and empathy
Maintain rigorous infection control and patient safety practices during all phases of care

Qualifications

Registered Nurse (RN) — ready to practice in Massachusetts
Experience or demonstrated skills in pre-operative care and pediatric nursing
Strong patient assessment and clinical documentation abilities
Willingness to complete required orientation prior to clinical duties

Knowledge & Skills

Pre-operative assessment and preparation for pediatric patients
Pediatric clinical care and family-centered communication
Monitoring and interpreting vital signs and perioperative safety standards
Accurate clinical documentation and handoff communication
