Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate post-anesthesia care to pediatric patients in the PACU
Monitor vital signs and recovery progression, escalating concerns promptly
Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and the nursing team for safe handoffs
Administer medications and interventions as ordered, documenting accurately
Educate families on recovery expectations and discharge instructions
Participate in orientation and unit trainings to maintain high standards of care

Qualifications

RN (Registered Nurse) credential — role requires registered nursing practice
Experience or interest in PACU and pediatric patient population (Peds)
Comfort working in a post-anesthesia/recovery environment
Ability to participate in required orientation prior to clinical start
Authorization to work in Massachusetts (facility located in MA) — licensure requirements to be confirmed with hiring team

Knowledge & Skills

Strong pediatric assessment and monitoring skills
Knowledge of post-anesthesia recovery protocols and safety practices
Effective communication with families and multidisciplinary teams
Accurate clinical documentation and medication administration
Calm, decisive critical thinking in fast-paced recovery settings
