Candidate Pay Rate: $47 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Assess and monitor post-anesthesia patients, recognizing changes and intervening promptly
Manage pain, airway and hemodynamic needs with compassion and clinical skill
Collaborate with anesthesia, surgeons, and multidisciplinary teams for seamless care transitions
Provide patient and family education on recovery expectations and discharge instructions
Document patient status, interventions and outcomes accurately in the electronic health record
Support unit flow by prioritizing tasks and assisting with admissions, transfers and discharges

Qualifications

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license — Louisiana RN licensure required or eligible
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS preferred or willing to obtain
Previous PACU or post-anesthesia experience preferred
Strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to act decisively in acute situations
Excellent communication and teamwork skills; patient-centered mindset

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Post-anesthesia patient assessment and recovery protocols
Pain management, airway support and hemodynamic monitoring
Familiarity with common PACU equipment and monitoring devices
Proficient documentation in electronic health record systems
Ability to prioritize, multitask, and work collaboratively in a fast-paced surgical environment
