Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts; exact start/end times vary by schedule (12-hour Med/Surg shifts)

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $47 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide safe, high-quality nursing care to Med/Surg patients with clinical confidence
Assess patients regularly and implement individualized care plans
Administer medications and treatments accurately while documenting thoroughly
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care
Educate patients and families on condition, treatment and discharge needs
Monitor patient status and escalate changes promptly to the care team
Support unit flow by triaging, admitting and discharging patients efficiently

Qualifications

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license (Louisiana) or eligible for Louisiana licensure
Clinical experience or training in Medical-Surgical nursing (core skills listed)
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS preferred or encouraged
Strong assessment, critical thinking and patient advocacy skills
Ability to work 12-hour shifts and adapt to rotating schedules
Compliance with required immunizations and background checks

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Solid Med/Surg nursing fundamentals and safe medication administration
Proficient in patient assessment, documentation and care planning
Comfortable with electronic medical records and unit workflows
Effective communicator with patients, families and interdisciplinary teams
Good time management, prioritization and situational awareness on busy units
