Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate medical/surgical nursing care tailored to pediatric patients
Perform thorough assessments, develop and implement nursing plans of care
Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care
Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments and discharge planning
Document patient status, treatments and progress clearly in the medical record
Support unit orientation efforts and contribute to a positive learning environment

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid for practice in Missouri
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred
Experience or strong interest in medical/surgical nursing with pediatric population
Comfort with medication administration, IV therapy, and pediatric assessments
Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
Ability to pass facility-required screenings, background checks and immunization requirements

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Pediatric patient assessment and family-centered care
Medical/Surgical nursing principles and best practices
Medication administration and IV therapy
Wound care and basic clinical procedures
Electronic medical record (EMR) charting and documentation
Effective communication, critical thinking, and teamwork
