Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to Med/Surg pediatric patients
• Perform thorough patient assessments and communicate changes in condition promptly
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and follow patient care plans
• Document care clearly and timely in the patient record system
• Educate patients and families about care plans, procedures, and discharge instructions
• Participate in orientation and training activities to maintain unit standards and best practices

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure (ability to hold Washington state RN license required upon hire)
• Experience in Med/Surg nursing with pediatric patient exposure preferred
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; PALS preferred
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Willingness to complete required orientation for the facility

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Completion of accredited nursing program

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of medical-surgical nursing principles and pediatric care
• Familiarity with medication administration, IV therapy, and documentation standards
• Comfortable using electronic health record (EHR) systems for charting
• Skilled in patient/family education and bedside teaching
• Excellent teamwork, time management, and prioritization abilities
