Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to Med/Surg patients
Perform thorough assessments and develop individualized care plans
Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
Monitor patient progress and communicate changes to the interdisciplinary team
Maintain timely, accurate documentation in the patient record
Educate patients and families on diagnoses, interventions, and discharge plans
Participate in unit-based quality improvement and safety initiatives
Support and mentor new staff and students to build a strong team

Qualifications

Active RN license in Louisiana (or compact RN license where applicable)
Current BLS certification required; ACLS or other certifications preferred
Previous Med/Surg nursing experience preferred but new grads with strong clinical skills are welcome
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Strong communication, critical thinking, and patient advocacy skills

Education

Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)

Knowledge & Skills

Solid understanding of Med/Surg nursing principles and standards of care
Proficiency with medication administration and IV therapy
Familiarity with electronic health record documentation
Excellent assessment, prioritization, and time management skills
Ability to collaborate across disciplines and contribute to positive patient outcomes
