Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on a medical-surgical unit
• Conduct thorough assessments and monitor patient status, intervening as needed
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments and discharge instructions
• Document patient care thoroughly and maintain accurate medical records
• Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and escalate concerns appropriately

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license (must be eligible to practice in Louisiana)
• Minimum clinical experience in medical-surgical nursing preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS or other certifications preferred
• Strong assessment, critical thinking and documentation skills
• Ability to work 12.5-hour shifts and manage acuity in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of medical-surgical nursing practices and standards
• Proficiency with medication administration and safe IV management
• Comfortable with electronic health record documentation
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively under pressure
• Strong patient education and discharge planning skills
