Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered critical care for ICU patients
• Monitor and interpret complex patient data and respond rapidly to changes
• Administer medications and manage advanced therapies safely and accurately
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement care plans
• Educate patients and families about condition, treatment plans, and recovery expectations
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient progress thoroughly in the medical record
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and safety initiatives

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (eligible to practice in Louisiana or via nursing compact where applicable)
• Current BLS certification required
• ACLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Previous ICU or critical care experience preferred
• Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to manage critically ill patients
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in critical care assessment and patient monitoring
• Experience with ventilator management and hemodynamic support
• Familiarity with ICU medications and titration protocols
• Comfortable using electronic health records and documenting care accurately
• Ability to prioritize, multitask, and remain calm under pressure
