Roles & Responsibilities

Provide high-quality, compassionate critical care to ICU patients
Monitor and interpret hemodynamic, ventilator, and lab data to guide care
Administer medications and IV therapies safely and accurately
Respond quickly and effectively to emergencies and code situations
Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the care team to coordinate plans
Document patient status, interventions, and outcomes clearly in the medical record
Educate patients and families on condition, treatment plans, and discharge needs

Qualifications

Current RN licensure (Louisiana state license or applicable compact license preferred)
ICU/critical care experience (experience in acute care ICU settings preferred)
Facility-required certifications such as BLS and ACLS (per facility policy)
Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to prioritize in high-acuity environments
Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Education

Nursing degree (ADN, BSN or equivalent) — BSN preferred where available

Knowledge & Skills

Critical care assessment and patient monitoring
Basic ventilator and respiratory support familiarity
Hemodynamic monitoring and vasoactive medication management
IV/central line medication administration and titration
Electronic medical record (EMR) documentation proficiency
Effective interdisciplinary communication and escalation
