Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care to patients in the ED/ER with compassion and clinical precision
• Assess, triage and prioritize patient needs quickly and effectively
• Administer medications, treatments and IV therapy safely and accurately
• Collaborate with physicians, techs and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate excellent patient care
• Document patient care thoroughly and timely in the electronic medical record
• Respond to emergencies, assist with procedures and maintain a calm, organized presence
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments and discharge plans
• Participate actively in orientation and unit-based training to support continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kentucky, or eligibility to obtain one prior to start
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
• Previous Emergency Department (ED/ER) nursing experience preferred
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking and prioritization skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency assessment and triage principles
• IV therapy, medication administration and basic clinical procedures
• Familiarity with electronic health record documentation
• Strong communication, teamwork and patient education skills
• Ability to remain calm and decisive during urgent situations
