Location: Bowie, MD

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Per diem (days vary), 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM (Day shift)

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $19 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming) with dignity and respect
Provide compassionate hands-on care to geriatric patients and support their comfort
Monitor and record vital signs and changes in condition, communicating findings to the care team
Support mobility and safe transfers, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
Document care activities accurately and timely in facility records
Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary staff to follow care plans and enhance resident outcomes
Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control practices

Qualifications

GNA certification (required) — you know your way around geriatric care
Experience working with older adults preferred, but caring attitude and willingness to learn count for a lot
Ability to work per diem shifts and adapt to variable schedules
Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
Ability to pass background check and any facility-required health screenings

Education

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Completion of an accredited GNA program (or state-approved equivalent)

Knowledge & Skills

Understanding of basic geriatric care principles and resident-centered approaches
Comfortable assisting with ADLs and mobility support
Basic vital signs measurement and observational skills
Good documentation practices and attention to detail
Compassionate communication with residents and families
Ability to follow care plans and safety protocols
