Roles & Responsibilities

• Operate the GE 16-slice CT scanner and portable X-ray/GE C-arm to acquire high-quality diagnostic images
• Prepare and administer contrast media safely and perform peripheral IV starts and venipuncture as needed
• Perform CT studies relevant to inpatient rehab patients — chest, abdomen/pelvis, spine, musculoskeletal and specialty procedures
• Support special procedures including biopsies, brain perfusion CT, CT arthrography and vascular CTA when requested
• Maintain radiation safety practices and infection isolation precautions for patient and staff safety
• Accurately document exams, findings and contrast administration in Epic and manage images in PACS
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and float between St. Elias and Providence Alaska Medical Center as needed

Qualifications

• ARRT(R) and ARRT(CT) certifications required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of CT/diagnostic imaging experience (first-time travel clinicians accepted)
• Comfortable starting peripheral IVs and performing venipuncture
• Willingness to float within scope to Providence Alaska Medical Center and cover on-call nights (2-3 nights/week)
• Candidates must have a permanent address at least 50 miles from the facility (locals not accepted)

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program preferred
• ARRT registration (R and CT) and BLS required

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient with CT imaging and X-ray imaging workflows
• Experience with contrast preparation, administration and monitoring
• Familiarity with PACS and Epic charting
• Competence in radiation safety and isolation precautions
• Experience with special procedures: biopsies, brain perfusion CT, CT arthrography and vascular CTA (preferred)
• Comfortable operating GE CT systems and Siemens portable X-ray / GE C-arm equipment
