Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM with on-call shifts 4:00 PM - 7:00 AM (8-10 shifts per month)

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $76 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Assist surgeons, interventional radiologists, and nurse practitioners during complex cardiac and vascular procedures
Prepare the operating room table, tools, and equipment prior to surgery ensuring everything is ready for seamless procedures
Maintain sterility and safety standards before, during, and after each surgical case
Provide emotional support to patients and their family members throughout their hospitalization journey
Collaborate with the circulating nurse in monitoring vitals, assessing skin integrity, and communicating with family members
Document surgical details accurately in the patient's electronic health record
Perform postoperative needle, sponge, and instrument counts to ensure patient safety

Qualifications

Active RN license in New York
BLS certification required
Previous scrub nurse experience in vascular and cardiac surgery preferred
CNOR certification preferred
Strong organization, time management, and critical-thinking skills

Knowledge & Skills

Expertise in CVOR scrub techniques and sterile field management
Knowledge of cardiac and vascular surgical procedures and instrumentation
Ability to anticipate surgeon needs and respond quickly during procedures
Proficiency in electronic health record documentation
Strong attention to detail for instrument and supply counts
