Registered Nurse - Oncology Telemetry

Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM and 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $57 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality care to oncology and telemetry patients on a 32-bed unit
- Monitor cardiac rhythms and interpret EKGs using Phillips telemetry equipment
- Administer chemotherapy treatments and manage complex medication regimens
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to create individualized care plans
- Float to other MedSurg/Telemetry units as needed to support hospital-wide patient care
- Maintain strict sterile technique during procedures and pass skills validation labs
- Educate patients and families about treatment plans, medications, and self-care strategies
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Arizona or compact state
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Chemo certification preferred
- Minimum one year of recent oncology or telemetry experience
- Cerner EMR experience strongly preferred
- Ability to interpret EKGs and manage cardiac drips
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong oncology and telemetry assessment skills
- Proficiency with Cerner electronic medical records
- Excellent sterile technique and infection control practices
- Ability to manage vents including BiPAP and CPAP
- Comfortable floating between similar units
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities
