Physical Therapist - Acute Care
Location: Redwood City, California
Start Date: 06-08-2026
End Date: 09-07-2026
Contract Type: Contract
Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM with varied start times between 8:30 AM - 10:30 AM and end times between 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM; weekend shifts may be required with a day off during the week
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $63 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional physical therapy care across acute care units including med-surg, tele, ICU, and oncology
- Provide specialized treatment for orthopedic and total joint replacement patients
- Support ventilated patients in the ICU with skilled therapy interventions
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient recovery
- Manage a varied caseload that includes cardiac surgery patients and complex medical conditions
Qualifications
- Active Physical Therapy license in California
- Current BLS certification
- Minimum 2 years of acute care physical therapy experience
- Experience with orthopedic conditions and total joint replacements
- Comfort working with ventilated patients in ICU settings
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong assessment and treatment planning skills across diverse patient populations
- Experience with Cerner EMR documentation
- Ability to work independently with minimal orientation
- Excellent communication and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
