Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct care and support to residents with respect and dignity
• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes to nursing staff
• Help with safe transfers, ambulation, and positioning of patients
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control procedures
• Communicate clearly with the care team and contribute to a positive care plan
• Document care activities promptly and accurately in resident records

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification (Certified Nursing Assistant) in good standing
• Active state registry as required (PA registry recommended for Smethport)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification preferred
• Up-to-date immunizations and TB screening per facility policy
• Willingness to pass background check and drug screening
• Reliable, compassionate, and patient-focused with good communication skills

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an approved CNA training program and active certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of basic nursing principles and resident care
• Skilled in safe transfer techniques and use of mobility aids
• Familiarity with charting and basic documentation practices
• Good time management and ability to work in a team environment
• Strong observational skills to notice changes in resident condition
• Customer-service mindset when interacting with residents and families
