Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents and patients, assisting with activities of daily living
Measure and document vital signs, intake/output, and patient status accurately
Assist nursing team with safe transfers, mobility, and personal hygiene
Maintain infection control practices and a clean, safe environment
Communicate clearly with nurses and family members about patient needs and changes
Support admissions, discharges, and smooth handoffs to ensure continuity of care

Qualifications

Current CNA certification (required)
Active or eligible to obtain certification in Connecticut
CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
Ability to pass background check and required health screenings (TB, immunizations)
Strong communication skills and a patient-centered attitude
Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a care team

Education

High school diploma or GED preferred
Completion of an approved CNA program and active certification

Knowledge & Skills

Comfortable assisting with ADLs (bathing, dressing, feeding)
Proficient in taking and recording vital signs
Basic infection prevention and control practices
Ability to follow care plans and document observations accurately
Good teamwork, time management, and situational awareness
