Shift Type: Night shifts, 3x12 (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM), rotating schedule including weekdays and some weekends (every other weekend) with rotating holidays; required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity

Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate clinical care for Progressive Care Unit (PCU) patients, including post-op cardiac and vascular surgery cases
- Continuously monitor telemetry and interpret dysrhythmias to detect and escalate changes quickly
- Perform IV starts and manage peripheral/central lines, arterial lines, PICCs and blood product administration safely
- Manage respiratory supports such as BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC and tracheostomy care when required
- Care for chest tubes, surgical drains, wound vacs and feeding tubes as part of post-op management
- Administer and titrate cardiac and endocrine protocols per policy and collaborate with providers on medication management
- Document accurately in EPIC and maintain clear communication with interdisciplinary teams (RT, PT, pharmacy, social work, rapid response)
- Support unit flow by admitting patients directly from OR/PACU/ED or clinic, and float to equivalent units when needed
Qualifications
- Active RN license (state licensure required for practice in OH)
- Minimum 2 years of Progressive Care Unit (PCU)/telemetry experience required
- BLS and ACLS certifications required (NIHSS preferred)
- Demonstrated IV start and telemetry experience; EPIC charting experience required
- Previous experience caring for post-cardiac surgery and vascular surgery patients strongly preferred
- Travel assignment experience preferred and ability to start assignment as scheduled
- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required per facility guideline
Knowledge & Skills
- Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation/management
- IV therapy, peripheral and central line care, arterial line management
- Post-op cardiac and vascular patient care (CABG, valve, TAVR, stents, grafts)
- Chest tube and surgical drain care, wound vac management
- Management of endocrine protocols including insulin drips
- Respiratory skills: ABG interpretation, BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, non-invasive airway support
- Proficient EPIC documentation and electronic charting workflows
- Strong critical thinking, rapid response participation and interdisciplinary communication
