Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, respectful assistance with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, toileting, and feeding
• Measure and record vital signs accurately and report any changes promptly
• Assist with safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and equipment
• Maintain clear, timely documentation to support excellent continuity of care
• Observe patients for changes in condition and communicate concerns to the nursing team
• Support infection control practices and maintain a clean, safe environment
• Build positive relationships with patients and families to enhance patient experience
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to deliver coordinated care

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required
• State CNA registration or eligibility for New Mexico preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Comfortable assisting with mobility, personal care, and basic clinical tasks
• Reliable, compassionate, and able to communicate effectively with patients and team members
• Previous long-term care or skilled nursing experience is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong patient-centered care and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in taking and documenting vital signs
• Knowledge of infection control and basic safety protocols
• Ability to perform safe patient transfers and use assistive devices
• Good time management and the ability to prioritize tasks in a busy setting
• Basic charting and documentation skills
