Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality bedside nursing care for PCU and Burn ICU patients, managing acuity with attention and compassion
• Monitor and manage ventilators and advanced respiratory support to keep patients stable
• Assist with or manage CRRT when needed and coordinate care with the dialysis team
• Document assessments and interventions accurately in Meditech to ensure seamless care continuity
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, charge RNs, and techs to deliver safe care
• Educate patients and families about care plans, discharge needs, and recovery expectations
• Maintain unit safety and infection control standards while delivering patient-centered care
• Support unit staffing needs, including weekends and floating as required

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse licensure (RN) — Tennessee licensure or compact license preferred
• Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience, with PCU, ICU, or med-surg background strongly preferred
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
• Experience with ventilator management and ventilator-equipped patients
• Familiarity with Meditech documentation system
• Comfortable working in a Burn ICU environment; CRRT experience is a plus
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care assessment and intervention for high-acuity patients
• Ventilator management and respiratory support knowledge
• Basic familiarity with CRRT operations and indications
• Proficient documentation skills in Meditech or similar EHR systems
• Patient ratio awareness (ICU 2:1; med-surg/PCU 4:1) and workload prioritization
• Ability to follow unit-specific policies and required procedures
• Comfort working night shifts and covering weekend-intensive schedules
