Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour night shifts, 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM; schedule includes nights and weekends (at least every 3rd weekend) with holiday rotation. Self-scheduling with manager approval; occasional float to ED as needed.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care on the Med/Tele Swing unit for adults, geriatrics and occasional pediatrics
• Assess patients regularly and develop individualized care plans
• Administer IV therapies and IV antibiotics safely and accurately
• Perform wound care and coordinate therapy needs for swing-bed patients
• Document patient care thoroughly in EPIC and maintain accurate charts
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and support ancillary departments
• Serve as a dependable team player who jumps in to help where needed
• Float to the ED as backup when volumes demand flexibility

Qualifications

• Active RN license eligible for Nebraska
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience preferred
• Current BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications required
• Driver's license required at time of submittal (radius rule applies)
• Comfort with telemetry monitoring and med-surg patient populations
• Willingness to complete a pass/fail orientation exam (90% required)
• Adherence to facility policies (e.g., no artificial nails in patient care areas)

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Diploma in Nursing; BSN preferred but not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong med-surgical and telemetry nursing knowledge
• Proficient with EPIC charting
• Skilled in IV therapy and IV antibiotic administration
• Experienced in wound care techniques
• Excellent patient assessment and clinical decision-making
• Effective communication and teamwork in a small-unit environment
• Time management and prioritization for 12-hour shifts
