Location: Bowie, Maryland
Contract Type: Per-Diem
Shift Type: 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM NOC (overnight night shift)
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $20 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and respect
- Provide safe transfer and mobility assistance while using proper body mechanics
- Observe residents’ physical and emotional condition and promptly report changes to nursing staff
- Support mealtime and hydration needs, ensuring comfort and proper nutrition
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation of care and interventions
- Contribute to a clean, safe environment by following infection control and safety protocols
- Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to create a positive care experience
Qualifications
- Current GNA certification (required)
- State-specific GNA registry or license as applicable
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Comfort working night shifts and providing compassionate care to geriatric residents
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team
- Prior experience in long-term care or assisted living is a plus but not always required
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an approved GNA training program or equivalent
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of geriatric care principles and dignity-focused assistance
- Basic charting and documentation skills
- Safe resident handling and transfer techniques
- Infection control practices and universal precautions
- Empathy, patience, and excellent interpersonal skills
- Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs during a shift
