Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct care to geriatric residents, focusing on dignity and comfort
• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility
• Observe and report changes in resident condition to the nursing team promptly
• Support meal service and assist with feeding as needed, while honoring resident preferences
• Document care activities accurately and timely in the facility charting system
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary staff to implement resident care plans
• Create a supportive, respectful environment that promotes resident independence and well-being

Qualifications

• GNA certification (required) — this role is posted as Class: GNA
• Current state registry or ability to obtain/maintain required state credentials
• Comfort working with older adults and showing patience, respect, and empathy
• Basic communication skills to interact with residents, families, and team members
• Reliable, punctual, and able to complete assigned shifts (per-diem expectations)

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Completion of an approved Geriatric Nursing Assistant program or equivalent (as required for GNA certification)

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on experience with personal care and mobility assistance
• Familiarity with documentation best practices and reporting changes in condition
• Understanding of infection control and safe patient handling principles
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a care team
• Ability to follow care plans and directions from licensed nursing staff
