Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate personal care and hygiene assistance to geriatric residents
• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing and toileting
• Support safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and equipment
• Monitor and record vital signs, behaviors and any changes in condition
• Document care accurately and communicate observations to the nursing team
• Help create a comfortable, respectful environment that supports resident dignity
• Engage residents in social and recreational activities to promote well being
• Follow infection control protocols and maintain a clean, safe care environment

Qualifications

• Valid GNA certification or state recognized nursing assistant credential (CNA accepted where applicable)
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Able to pass required background checks and health screenings
• Comfortable working nights and flexible per diem shifts
• Strong communication skills and a kind, patient-centered approach
• Reliable, punctual and able to complete required documentation

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an approved GNA or nursing assistant training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Basic knowledge of geriatric care principles and common age-related conditions
• Familiarity with infection control, safe resident handling and fall prevention
• Ability to take and record vital signs and observe clinical changes
• Good interpersonal skills to work with residents, families and the care team
• Attention to detail for accurate charting and handoffs
• Time management skills for efficient care during assigned shifts
