Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting) with dignity and compassion
- Provide safe, attentive bedside care during the night shift and monitor residents throughout your shift
- Observe and report changes in resident condition to nursing staff promptly
- Document care provided and resident responses accurately and timely
- Support mealtimes and assist with evening routines to promote resident comfort
- Work collaboratively with the care team to create a calm, restful night environment
Qualifications
- Class listed as GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) — appropriate certification or classification required
- Comfortable and experienced working the 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM night shift
- Strong communication skills and ability to follow care plans and directions
- Ability to pass facility-required background check and any onboarding screenings
- Current basic healthcare compliance items as required by the facility (e.g., immunizations) per employer policy
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Comfort with basic resident care and assisting with activities of daily living
- Knowledge of resident safety practices and infection control basics
- Basic documentation skills and attention to detail during charting
- Compassionate bedside manner and ability to promote a restful night environment
- Team-oriented attitude and dependable attendance for scheduled shifts
