Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, feeding) with dignity and empathy
• Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes promptly
• Support safe mobility and transfer techniques to reduce fall risk
• Maintain clear, timely documentation of patient care and observations
• Communicate effectively with nurses and the care team to coordinate patient needs
• Help maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for patients
• Follow care plans and infection control protocols to protect patients and staff
• Act as a compassionate patient advocate, noticing and reporting any changes

Qualifications

• Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential (required)
• Current listing on the North Carolina Nurse Aide Registry or eligibility to list
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Comfortable performing hands-on patient care and lifting/assisting as needed
• Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently on per diem shifts

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an approved CNA training program (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of basic nursing procedures and infection control practices
• Skill in taking and recording vital signs accurately
• Ability to follow care plans and document patient interactions
• Strong interpersonal skills for working with patients and families
• Time management and prioritization in a fast-paced clinical setting
• Basic knowledge of patient mobility and safe transfer techniques
