Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, toileting, and grooming
- Provide safe and compassionate bedside care during overnight hours
- Take and record vital signs and report any concerning changes to nursing staff
- Support resident mobility and fall prevention efforts
- Maintain clean, safe, and dignified living spaces for residents
- Communicate clearly with the care team and participate in shift handoffs
- Document care accurately and timely according to facility standards
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification — Pennsylvania required
- Comfortable and experienced working overnight shifts
- Background check and required health screenings up to date
- Reliable transportation to the Gettysburg Center
- Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Practical knowledge of ADLs, safety, and resident dignity
- Ability to take and record vital signs accurately
- Infection control and proper PPE usage
- Basic documentation and charting skills
- Compassion, patience, and strong observational skills
- Ability to work independently during overnight shifts and escalate concerns appropriately
