Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care to residents, including bathing, grooming, and mobility assistance
• Assist nursing staff with vital signs, basic observations, and timely reporting of changes
• Support meal and feeding routines while ensuring dignity and respect for each resident
• Maintain clean, safe environments by following facility infection control and safety procedures
• Document care activities accurately and communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team
• Build trusting relationships with residents and families through thoughtful, patient-centered interactions

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification — active and in good standing
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Demonstrated comfort with providing personal care and assisting with activities of daily living
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively on a care team
• Reliable, punctual, and able to pass facility background and health screenings

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred; completion of an approved CNA training program required

Knowledge & Skills

• Familiarity with infection control practices and patient safety standards
• Basic knowledge of vital signs and how to report concerns
• Ability to assist safely with transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics
• Comfortable documenting care in electronic or paper charting systems
• Compassionate bedside manner and strong observational skills
