Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality emergency nursing care to a diverse patient population
- Triage patients efficiently and prioritize care in a fast-paced ED environment
- Administer medications, start IVs, and manage critical interventions per protocol
- Collaborate with physicians, techs, and ancillary staff to deliver timely patient care
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and professionally
- Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, and discharge instructions
- Participate in unit-based safety and quality initiatives to improve patient outcomes
Qualifications
- Active RN license (state-specific or compact) required — please have documentation ready
- Minimum 2+ years of nursing experience (Emergency Department experience strongly preferred)
- Current BLS required; ACLS preferred or obtained promptly upon hire
- Demonstrated ability to work independently in high-acuity situations
- Strong clinical assessment skills and effective communication with patients and team members
Education
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
Knowledge & Skills
- Triage principles and emergency assessment skills
- IV therapy, medication administration, and emergency procedures
- Ability to manage multiple high-acuity patients and prioritize effectively
- Familiarity with common ED equipment and documentation systems
- Team collaboration, critical thinking, and calm decision-making under pressure
