Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert post-operative care for CVICU and open-heart surgery patients with compassion and precision
• Continuously assess hemodynamics, monitor ventilator and cardiac support devices, and titrate medications per protocols
• Lead timely, accurate documentation and complete required Trinity specialty competency checks
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, respiratory therapists and the multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes
• Respond quickly and effectively to clinical changes and emergencies in a high-acuity environment
• Support patient and family education, delivering clear explanations and reassurance during recovery

Qualifications

• Active RN license valid for practice in Ohio (License/Certificate Verification required)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• NIHSS certification
• Strong CVICU experience with open-heart surgery patients required
• Completion of Trinity Skills Checklist and Trinity specialty competency testing prior to start
• Current occupational health requirements: Fit test, 2-step PPD or IGRA, Trinity 10-panel drug screen, color vision, COVID-19, MMR, Hepatitis B, Influenza vaccine, Varicella, and physical/health statement

• Post-operative open-heart and critical care nursing expertise
• Hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation
• Ventilator management and airway support
• IV vasoactive medication titration and infusion pump proficiency
• Cardiac rhythm interpretation and rapid assessment skills
• Strong clinical judgment, prioritization, and teamwork
• Accurate clinical documentation and compliance with unit competencies
