Shift Type: Night shift, 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM; rotating schedule that includes weekends (must sign up for 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule)
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $56 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Monitor and interpret telemetry and patient observation systems to catch changes early and act decisively
- Deliver compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to PCU patients, including preparation for procedures like Endoscopy, IR, and OR
- Document care accurately and efficiently in Cerner to support continuity and quality
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized patient plans
- Serve as a patient and family educator — explain conditions, treatments, and discharge plans in clear, reassuring terms
- Respond to emergencies and changes in condition with calm, skilled intervention
- Support unit flow by assisting with admissions, discharges, and transfers during each shift
Qualifications
- Active RN license (state of North Carolina or compact multistate license as applicable)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience (telemetry/medical-surgical experience preferred)
- BLS certification (required)
- Experience with medical telemetry monitoring and Cerner EMR
- CMSRN encouraged (preferred)
- BSN preferred; leadership or charge nurse experience is a plus
- Ability to work nights and commit to required weekend shift sign-ups
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong telemetry monitoring skills and ability to recognize arrhythmias and physiological change
- Proficient use of Cerner Patient Observation (CPO) and bedside documentation workflows
- Excellent patient assessment and clinical judgment in a progressive care setting
- Clear communication and teamwork skills for fast-paced unit collaboration
- Familiarity with remote monitoring equipment and VC150 systems
- Time management and prioritization in a high-acuity environment
