Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive mental health assessment and individualized treatment planning for adults in a substance abuse treatment setting
• Deliver therapy and counseling services focused on substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions
• Collaborate with medical, nursing, and program staff to coordinate care and ensure continuity
• Document clinical encounters, progress notes, and treatment plans accurately and on time
• Facilitate group therapy, psychoeducation, and relapse prevention programming
• Lead discharge planning and community referrals to support successful transitions
• Participate in training, supervision, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Current LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) credential in good standing
• Experience working in mental health and substance abuse treatment (facility experience preferred)
• Comfortable providing individual and group therapy in an institutional setting
• Ability to complete required background checks and facility onboarding
• Strong documentation skills and familiarity with treatment planning and progress note standards
• Willingness to complete the provided 2-week training period

Education

• Master of Social Work (MSW) — typical requirement for LCSW licensure

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in evidence-based interventions for substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health issues
• Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
• Excellent therapeutic rapport-building and crisis intervention abilities
• Familiarity with treatment plan development, progress tracking, and clinical documentation
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team and communicate clearly with stakeholders
• Cultural sensitivity and respect for diverse patient backgrounds
