Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 6:30 AM - 7:30 PM (Day, 12-hour shifts; typically scheduled as 3x12-hour day shifts). Evening/night on-call required after 7:00 PM - 6:30 AM and one 24-hour weekend call (Saturday or Sunday) per contract. Float to 2nd-floor Outpatient ORs as needed. Shift type: day_night

Roles & Responsibilities

• Circulate in the operating room for orthopedic, robotic (DaVinci Xi), gynecology, plastics, podiatry and urology procedures with confidence
• Coordinate patient care and ensure seamless OR flow from pre-op through PACU handoff
• Monitor conscious sedation and respond quickly to changes in patient status
• Document accurately and efficiently in EPIC to maintain clear, real-time patient records
• Support the surgical team with instrumentation, positioning, and sterile technique
• Operate and assist with specialized equipment such as the DaVinci Xi and MAKO systems when indicated
• Serve as a dependable on-call resource for evening and weekend coverage
• Float to outpatient OR areas as needed and adapt to changing room assignments and case volumes

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license (state licensure to practice required)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Level 1 trauma experience required
• EPIC charting experience required
• BLS required; ACLS preferred; NIHSS preferred
• Experience circulating in ORs, with orthopedic and robotic cases strongly preferred
• Conscious sedation monitoring experience preferred
• Prior travel/contract experience preferred and the ability to float between OR areas

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong circulating skills in the OR and familiarity with scrub workflows
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic charting and perioperative documentation
• Experience with robotic surgery (DaVinci Xi) and familiarity with MAKO system a plus
• Conscious sedation monitoring and patient safety practices
• Ability to support a wide range of procedures: total joint, arthroscopy, robotics, GYN, urology, plastics, podiatry
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and critical thinking under pressure
• Comfortable with call responsibilities and flexible scheduling
• Commitment to sterile technique, infection control, and evidence-based perioperative care
