Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide continuous cardiac telemetry monitoring for patients on the medical cardiology unit, promptly identifying and reporting abnormalities
• Deliver post-cardiac procedure care including management of cardiac drips and titration per protocol
• Respond rapidly to cardiac events and collaborate in emergency interventions using ACLS/BLS algorithms
• Coordinate care with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes
• Perform accurate documentation, medication administration, and handoffs to ensure continuity of care
• Educate patients and families about cardiac conditions, post-procedure care, and discharge planning

Qualifications

• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
• Telemetry monitoring experience — comfortable interpreting cardiac rhythms
• Experience with post-cardiac procedure care and management of cardiac drips (preferred)
• NIHSS experience preferred for stroke assessment familiarity
• Ability to complete required health screenings and immunizations (Fit Test, Tdap, COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, Hep B, Influenza, PPD/IGRA, Varicella, physical, drug screen)
• Successful completion of Trinity specialty competency testing and skills checklist as required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong telemetry rhythm recognition and cardiac assessment skills
• Skilled in titration and monitoring of cardiac drips and infusions
• Familiarity with post-procedural nursing care and common cardiology interventions
• Excellent communication and teamwork in high-acuity settings
• Accurate clinical documentation and adherence to unit policies and competency checklists
