Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide continuous cardiac telemetry monitoring for patients on the medical cardiology unit, promptly identifying and reporting abnormalities
- Deliver post-cardiac procedure care including management of cardiac drips and titration per protocol
- Respond rapidly to cardiac events and collaborate in emergency interventions using ACLS/BLS algorithms
- Coordinate care with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes
- Perform accurate documentation, medication administration, and handoffs to ensure continuity of care
- Educate patients and families about cardiac conditions, post-procedure care, and discharge planning
Qualifications
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
- Telemetry monitoring experience — comfortable interpreting cardiac rhythms
- Experience with post-cardiac procedure care and management of cardiac drips (preferred)
- NIHSS experience preferred for stroke assessment familiarity
- Ability to complete required health screenings and immunizations (Fit Test, Tdap, COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, Hep B, Influenza, PPD/IGRA, Varicella, physical, drug screen)
- Successful completion of Trinity specialty competency testing and skills checklist as required
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong telemetry rhythm recognition and cardiac assessment skills
- Skilled in titration and monitoring of cardiac drips and infusions
- Familiarity with post-procedural nursing care and common cardiology interventions
- Excellent communication and teamwork in high-acuity settings
- Accurate clinical documentation and adherence to unit policies and competency checklists
