Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic radiographic examinations across ED, OR and bedside/portable settings with accuracy and compassion
- Operate and maintain portable and fixed X-ray equipment, ensuring quality images and patient safety
- Collaborate closely with ED and surgical teams during trauma and operative procedures
- Follow trauma protocols and contribute to rapid, efficient patient care in high-acuity situations
- Document procedures and imaging in Cerner promptly and accurately
- Uphold radiation safety standards and infection control practices for patients and staff
- Participate in department quality improvement and share feedback to enhance patient outcomes
Qualifications
- ARRT certification (required)
- BLS certification (required)
- Arizona Radiology license in hand (must have)
- Minimum 2 years of diagnostic radiology experience, preferably in an acute care or busy hospital setting
- Experience with ED/Trauma imaging, portable X-ray, and OR/intraoperative imaging
- Familiarity with Cerner or similar electronic health record systems
- Comfort working Sunday-Wednesday, 9:30 AM - 8:00 PM and handling high-volume trauma cases
Education
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program and ARRT certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of patient positioning, exposure techniques, and image quality optimization
- Expertise in trauma imaging protocols and portable radiography
- Ability to perform intraoperative and bedside imaging safely and efficiently
- Proficiency with Cerner charting and electronic image documentation
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills for fast-paced acute care environments
- Attention to detail, critical thinking, and ability to prioritize in emergencies
