Roles & Responsibilities

• Analyze patient specimens across chemistry, hematology, microbiology and blood bank to deliver accurate, timely results
• Operate, calibrate and perform routine maintenance on laboratory instruments to ensure reliable testing
• Perform specimen collection including venipuncture and capillary draws for patients of all ages
• Enter, evaluate and transmit laboratory data using the Laboratory Information System with attention to accuracy
• Monitor and document quality control and quality assurance activities to maintain high laboratory standards
• Prepare and analyze slides and samples, identifying abnormalities such as bacteria, parasites or atypical cells
• Assist with blood typing and compatibility testing when needed to support patient transfusion needs
• Provide clear technical information about test results to physicians and clinical teams

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field, or equivalent clinical experience
• MLT or MT certification (or eligible) preferred; state licensure where applicable
• Proven experience or competency in chemistry, hematology, microbiology and blood bank testing
• Demonstrated phlebotomy skills and experience collecting specimens from patients of all ages
• Familiarity with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and accurate data entry practices
• Strong attention to detail, good judgment when interpreting results, and commitment to QA/QC processes

Education

• Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field (or equivalent experience)

Knowledge & Skills

• Specimen collection and proper handling techniques
• Clinical laboratory testing in chemistry, hematology, microbiology and blood bank
• Instrument operation, calibration and preventive maintenance
• Quality assurance and quality control principles
• Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and clinical data entry
• Ability to analyze and interpret laboratory results with clinical judgment
• Good communication skills for interacting with nursing staff and physicians
